A recent cosplay by alice_kelstkaya on Reddit’s r/cosplay board proves this, bringing one of the game’s most popular characters to life in a stunning photoshoot.
Not only is the cosplayer’s costume on-point, wearing an outfit that is 1:1 with Futaba’s overworld appearance for a majority of the game, the cosplayer is posed perfectly in front of a slick gaming setup, reminiscent of when Joker and the rest of the party first encounter Futaba in-game.
Despite Persona 5 rapidly approaching its 10-year anniversary, the title still has a devoted fanbase that celebrate everything from the characters, world-building, and combat system. Cosplayers like this, that hold so much love for the cast after all this time, exemplify Persona 5‘s staying power in the modern gaming landscape.

]]>Like most other trilogies, it’s best to read the Remembrance of the Earth series in the order each book was released. The first book in the series is set at the earliest point in the centuries-spanning timeline that the series follows, making it an obvious jumping-off point for new readers.
While the three books listed above form the main body of the series, the trilogy’s story continues in a novel, The Redemption of Time. Originally written as a work of fanfiction written by a dedicated Remembrance of the Earth fan named Li Jun under the title Three-Body X: Aeon of Contemplation, Cixin was so impressed with the story’s loyalty to its source material that he fully endorsed the project. Soon after, The Redemption of Time would be officially released in print by the original trilogy’s publisher, Chongqing Press.

In the Remembrance of the Earth trilogy, a search for extra-terrestrial life (or SETI) experiment carried out by the Chinese government results in humanity making first contact with the Trisolarans, a highly-advanced but hostile alien race native to a world caught between the fluctuating orbit of three stars. After a misanthropic scientist named Ye Wenjie broadcasts Earth’s location to the Trisolarians, humanity comes together to prepare for the aliens’ arrival, with the fate of both human and Trisolarian civilization hanging precariously in the balance.
Netflix first announced its plans to adapt The Three-Body Problem into a television series in 2020, but this isn’t the first time that one or more books in the trilogy have been translated into other storytelling mediums. Within China, The Three-Body Problem was adapted into two separate animated series by the Chinese animation studio Bilibili, with the first being made in Minecraft. The Three-body Problem was also adapted into a live-action television series, but a proposed film based on the book was postponed indefinitely.
]]>While the phrase “educational game” is usually associated with video games designed to teach math, spelling, and other subjects to younger children, they aren’t the only games that can be used to educate students. When paired with the right lesson plan, many popular mainstream games can go from a classroom nuisance to an interactive teaching experience that will appeal to and educate even the most troubled students. Here are the top 10 best games to play at school!
Minecraft is one of the most popular video games ever created, and most students would jump at the chance to play it in class without hesitation. At base, Minecraft: Java Edition can be used to teach students how to build structures within an unconventional environment and utilize their resources carefully. However, Minecraft: Education Edition cranks the block-based game’s educational potential up to eleven.
Designed by Mojang Studios to be used in classrooms, Minecraft: Education Edition includes additional resources that allow teachers to create lesson plans that utilize Minecraft’s iconic and addictive break-and-build gameplay formula. It also gives them helpful restrictive tools that can be used to keep rowdier students in line and on task.
Much like the base product, Minecraft: Education Edition’s strength lies in its ability to appeal to players of all ages. While elementary school teachers can use blocks to teach students how to count and spell, secondary school instructors can use Miencraft’s more advanced mechanics to teach students the ins and outs of engineering, chemistry, and geology.
The Oregon Trail has been a staple of school computer rooms for decades, and it’s had just as much time to refine itself into one of the best educational video games ever coded. First released in 1972, The Oregon Trail has been re-released over twenty times, with each version targeting different age demographics and featuring unique gameplay mechanics to entertain and challenge players.
Regardless of which version of the game you’re playing, The Oregon Trail will teach you valuable lessons about the perils that pioneers in the 1800s had to endure as they set out to build new lives for themselves in the West. With the success of your journey hinging entirely on your ability to keep a wagon of settlers healthy and alive with limited resources, The Oregan Trail teaches children how to plan for the long term, deal with sudden and unpredictable disasters, and appreciate what past generations had to suffer through to secure a better future for themselves and their descendants.
Developed by ZU Digital as a contender (and eventual winner) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization’s International Gaming Challenge, World Rescue might feel familiar to those who grew up watching Captain Planet and the Planeteers. While it doesn’t feature an environmentalism-inspired superhero, World Rescue does put players in the shoes of six extraordinary young people from six different countries who take it upon themselves to battle climate change and the negative impact it’s had on their homelands.
Incorporating real-world sustainability goals set by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, World Rescue is an excellent way for teachers to educate students about real-world issues like disaster-related displacement, droughts, and pollution. World Rescue also demonstrates effective ways that the next generation can combat environmental problems and work towards sustainability within their local community, showing that the power to change the world is in their hands.
Civilization simulator games have always been one of the popular video game genres, and it has inspired countless players to take up a career in archeology and sociology. While previous entries in the series may be easier for some teachers to get, Civilization 6 is the most up-to-date version of the crown jewel of civilization simulation games.
Starting players at the earliest documented point in human history, Civilization 6 tasks players to build a prosperous civilization that survives from then to the modern era. As their fledging settlement grows into an expansive empire, players will witness first-hand how societies evolve and how events like war and scientific advancement impact them. With almost every human civilization represented in a historically accurate way within the game, Civilization 6 will teach players things about the history of humanity that they may never have learned otherwise.
While it may not be a game you want to introduce to younger students, Democracy 3 is perfect for older children interested in politics. Once it’s set you up as President or Prime Minister of a given nation, Democracy 3 challenges you to successfully run your government by passing effective policies, managing economics, and maintaining domestic security.
No matter which nation you end up leading, Democracy 3 expects you to run it well. With a sleek gameplay loop that gets right into the nitty-gritty of running a country, sociology teachers can use Democracy 3 to show the aspiring leaders of tomorrow that being in an elected office is about keeping the promises you make and doing right by the citizens who’ve put their faith in you.

Released to unexpected critical acclaim in 2007, Portal is a unique combination of platforming and physics-based puzzle solving that has continued to delight fans for over a decade. To the surprise of virtually no one, the 2011 sequel Portal 2 was just as beloved, and both can be excellent educational tools for students in science classes.
With a heavy focus on physics, both Portal and Portal 2 can be used by science teachers to give students a hands-on demonstration of concepts like momentum and refraction. The Portal series’ emphasis on platforming and puzzle solving can also teach invaluable life skills like spatial navigation, situational awareness, and the importance of looking at problems from new perspectives. Both games could even be an effective way to showcase the dangers of manipulation, with GLaDos being a textbook example of a toxic acquaintance.
While many may have learned about Kerbal Space Program through videos of video game commentators building poorly designed (and often inappropriately shaped) spacecraft, the game is far from a one-note joke. Developed by the Mexican studio Squad, Kerbal Space Program tasks players to build functional spaceships that will make the titular green aliens’ dreams of space travel a reality. It could also be the spark that ignites a young student’s lifelong passion for engineering.
Featuring a variety of parts for players to build spacecraft with and an expanding tree of missions for them to complete, the realism of Kerbal Space Program’s ship-construction and spaceflight system has been praised by organizations like NASA. With a gameplay loop that asks players to learn from their mistakes and reach higher goals, Kerbal Space Program would be an excellent addition to any science class’s astronomy lessons.
Many of the greatest video games borrow elements from board games, and Wordscapes is no exception. A puzzle game that mixes the best parts of Boggle and the crossword sections of your morning newspaper, Wordscape challenges players to build as many words as possible using the 3-7 words spinning in the circle at the bottom of the screen.
With over 600 levels covering many difficulty settings, Wordscape is a great way to test students’ ability to spell words and promote deductive reasoning through the in-game hint system. While its nature as a mobile game will mean that teachers might have to make sure some students are playing the game and not wasting time on their phones, Wordscape could teach students new words that could become lifelong editions to their lexicons.
Stardew Valley is regarded as one of the most relaxing games ever made, making it an excellent interactive education option for teachers who run high-energy classrooms. However, beneath its charming graphics and low-stress nature is a game with almost limitless educational potential.
As a farm management simulator, Stardew Valley can teach science and business students how to raise crops, tend to livestock, and manage finances. Outside of its agriculture system, Stardew Valley can also be used to teach younger players the importance of respecting the people around you, with its social simulation elements doing an excellent job of showing why you should always treat others with kindness.

The Zoombinis series leans more toward younger players than most of the other games on this list, but that doesn’t mean it can’t appeal to older students. While Logical Journey of the Zoombinis would go on to spawn two sequels, this original title is widely regarded as the best in the series.
Logical Journey of the Zoombinis tasks players with adding the titular blue furballs with legs as they flee their ancestral home to escape being enslaved by their hostile neighbors, the Glouts. By forming a group of Zoombinis to serve as a scouting party, players must solve logic-based puzzles to help the Zombinis travel to their new homes. These puzzles, while challenging, can help children develop logical reasoning skills that will help them later in life.
Sometimes, kids need a chance to forget the stress of school and have a bit of fun once in a while. While it may not teach any particular subjects, Dreams is an easy-to-play video game that can help students unwind while still letting them productively flex their cognitive muscles.
With nearly limitless creative options, Dream lets players build games and audio-visual experiences and play those made by other players. By creating and sharing dreams, students can exercise their artistic ability and learn about the interests of their peers. As long as they’re careful to make sure nothing inappropriate makes it into the final product, teachers can use Dreams to help shy students express themselves and form lasting friendships.

Fans of the adaptation will be able to watch the sixth episode exclusively on Crunchyroll and Funimation. It’s important to point out that to be able to watch the episode on release day you need to be a paid subscriber of either service. For those who prefer to watch the series’ dubbed version, the episode is set to be made available at a later date, as only two dubbed episodes are currently available at the time this article is being written. As usual, the episode is set to cover around three manga chapters and is set to run for around 19 to 20 minutes + opening and ending. As we said above, you can watch all of the episodes of not only Kaguya-Sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic-, but also that of the anime series’ first two seasons right now, exclusively on Crunchyroll and Funimation. On another note, now that you know when and where to watch the sixth chapter of Kaguya-Sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic-, don’t forget to check out where and when to watch the newest episode of the anime adaptation of Spy x Family.
The fifth episode of Spy x Family will be released on Saturday, May 7. The show is distributed via Crunchyroll and Hulu in most of the world. If you’re watching on Crunchyroll, then the episode will be available at the following times:
The episode will be available subbed at that time, but an English dub is also available on Crunchyroll. However, the dub is behind the subbed version, so you won’t be able to watch the new episode of Spy x Family dubbed until next week. Episode 4’s dubbed version is releasing on Sunday, May 8 at 2:30 PM PT/5:30 PM ET, so expect to see the dubbed version of episode 5 a week after that.
Crunchyroll is the best place to watch Spy x Family since the episodes will be available the soonest on that streaming platform, but Hulu subscribers can also watch the subbed version of the anime on that service as well. If you want to watch a dubbed version, your only option is Crunchyroll, and the dubbed episodes don’t release until later in the week. You can watch the anime on Crunchyroll for free, but the free version of Crunchyroll is only available in standard definition and features ads. A premium subscription ($7.99/month) offers HD streaming and no ads, and there’s a 14-day free trial available. On Hulu, you’ll need to pay for a subscription to watch since there’s no free version of the service. The cheapest Hulu plan is the ad-supported tier, which costs $6.99 per month. If you’re just looking to watch anime, then Crunchyroll is the better option between the two. Spy x Family is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
]]>Just like the previous episodes, Moon Knight episode 4 will be released on Disney Plus at 12:00 AM PT/3:00 AM ET on Wednesday, April 20. Here are the exact release times for a wide range of time zones.
The new episode will be available to watch as soon as the clock strikes the release time in your region, so keep an eye on Disney Plus if you want to stream it as soon as it’s out.
Moon Knight is a six-episode series much like Loki and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, so it’s nearly over. The first three episodes have already been released, and there are three remaining. Here are the release dates for all 6 Moon Knight episodes.
Episodes are always released on Wednesdays at 12:00 AM PT/3:00 AM ET.
Episode 4 was the final episode given to reviewers ahead of the show’s release, and it’s supposedly the best episode so far. Moon Knight has been a consistently great show since its debut, and it’s easily one of the best Marvel series to hit Disney Plus so far. Episode 4 reportedly ends on a huge cliffhanger, so it looks like things are just going to get worse for Marc and Layla. Not much is known about the exact events of the episode, but the critics who have seen it have called it one of the darkest episodes of the entire show. With what we’ve seen so far, that’s saying something. It’s shaping up to be an exciting episode, and thankfully, you’ll be able to stream it very soon. Moon Knight is currently available to stream on Disney Plus.
]]> It’s clear that someone is being hidden in the Thor trailer, since a shot of Thor and Korg has way too much empty space to the left of the duo. Someone is supposed to be there, but who? Fans have plenty of guesses, and since Love and Thunder has a huge ensemble cast featuring Russell Crowe as Zeus, Christian Bale as Gorr, and many of the Guardians of the Galaxy reprising their roles, there are plenty of possibilities for this mystery character.
While there are countless fan theories about exciting cameos and character reveals, the most likely candidate for the third person in this shot is Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, who will make her debut as the Mighty Thor in this film. Jane wielding Mjolnir was the final shot of the trailer, and Marvel likely wanted to save her costumed debut for the stinger. That’s why she was most likely removed from the shot with Thor and Korg. Jane Foster is confirmed to be in the film (obviously), so her inclusion in that shot would be a disappointingly normal explanation for this editing coverup. Still, there are other people that could accompany Thor and co. throughout the film, and fans think that it may not be Portman’s character in that scene.
Fans have been begging for Beta Ray Bill to enter the MCU for years at this point, and some people think that he could be the mystery character standing next to Thor in the trailer. Beta Ray Bill is worthy and can lift Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, and he’s a fan favorite among comic readers. He was initially supposed to be featured in Thor: Ragnarok as a cameo, but director Taika Waititi decided it wouldn’t do justice to the character. Since Waititi is back directing Love and Thunder, he could introduce Beta Ray Bill in a much more serious capacity this time around. It’d be a great moment for fans, but it could take away from Jane Foster’s time in the spotlight as Thor, so it’s still a tossup to see whether or not he’ll make the cut.
Love and Thunder is set to introduce a wide array of new gods to the MCU, and if Russell Crowe is playing Zeus, then it makes sense for Hercules to make an appearance as well. Hercules has been a rumored character for the film for quite some time now, although nothing concrete has surfaced in regards to casting, costuming, or any other leaks. Hercules and Thor have clashed several times throughout comic book history, and Hercules seems like a character that Taika Waititi would want to play around with in one of his films. Even if it’s just for brief cameo, Hercules has a solid chance of appearing in Love and Thunder. He may not be the one edited out of the trailer, but you may see this Marvel god on the big screen in July.
This is a long shot, but there’s no character more used to longshots than the Norse God of Mischief himself. Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has become one of the most popular characters in the MCU since his introduction in the first Thor film and, more importantly, his role as the antagonist of the first Avengers movie. Since then, he’s appeared in every single Thor movie to date and even has his own Disney Plus series that’s slated for a second season. The Loki show gave MCU fans their first serious taste of the multiverse, introducing the concept of variants, the Time Variance Authority, and the Sacred Timeline. While the original Loki perished at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, a Loki variant escaped to our timeline and has quickly been caught up to speed throughout the first season of his show. While it may not be time just yet, a reunion between Thor and Loki would be a huge crowd-pleasing moment for fans. With Loki set to appear in another season of his own show on Disney Plus, and with the God of Mischief being rumored for other appearances in films like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there’s a slim chance that he could appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. Again, this is a huge longshot (and mostly just wishful thinking), but even a brief appearance from Tom Hiddleston would be highly appreciated. Plus, it’s exactly the type of thing Marvel would want to keep under wraps with an edited trailer. While we wait to see who’s really supposed to be in this scene, there’s still plenty of Marvel goodness to enjoy. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres in just under a month, and Moon Knight is just over its halfway point on Disney Plus. Thor: Love and Thunder hits theaters on July 8, 2022 in the United States.
]]>Moon Knight has been written by countless different authors over the years, and his comic book personality (or should we say personalities) is a bit different than the one portrayed by Oscar Isaac in the show. If you want some goofier stories, then you can start with Moon Knights’ earlier appearances. If you want something closer to the show’s tone and feel though, then you should pick up some newer issues. You can purchase any of these recommended Moon Knight comics digitally on websites like Comixology, pick them up from a bookstore or local comic shop, or read them using a service like Marvel Unlimited. Marvel Unlimited is the easiest option, as you’ll have Moon Knight’s entire history at your fingertips.
Moon Knight didn’t get his start in his own comic series. He instead debuted in Werewolf by Night #32 in August 1975 as an antagonist. Because he was battling the Werewolf by Night, Marvel gave him moon-related powers and silver weapons (every werewolf’s weakness).
There is a QR code on the wall of the museum in Moon Knight that takes you to a free digital copy of Werewolf By Night 32.
byu/Goalless inmarvelstudios
It’s a silly issue from the ’70s, so it’s very different from the Moon Knight we know today. It’s still a fun read, however, and Marvel actually gave the issue away for free via a QR code hidden in the first episode of the Moon Knight Disney Plus series.
After multiple guest appearances in Werewolf by Night, Hulk, Spectacular Spider-Man, and more, Moon Knight finally got his own book in 1980. The first few issues of the series expand on his origin story and explain how he came to meet Khonshu and gain his powers. Just like his Werewolf by Night appearance, Moon Knight’s earliest issues are very different from his modern incarnation. However, if you’re one of those people that needs to start at the very beginning, then it’s not unreadable. Plus, it’s still relatively recent compared to superheroes that debuted much, much earlier like Spider-Man. Moon Knight’s first few issues and all of his guest appearances are collected in Moon Knight Epic Collection: Bad Moon Rising.
This is the latest Moon Knight run, so it’s the perfect place to start. This run is actually still ongoing and set to finish in June 2022, so you’ll be experiencing everything alongside existing Moon Knight fans and readers if you pick it up. This volume collects the first 6 issues of the run, and a second volume will be released with the second half of the story at a later date. This run sees Mr. Knight opening a safe haven for people called the Midnight Mission. All the while, Moon Knight still fights crime when night falls. There’s also some drama going on between Marc and Khonshu on top of everything. It’s a great run, but there are some other options if you’re not interested.
In 2011, authors Brian Michael Bendis (Ultimate Spider-Man) and Alex Maleev (Daredevil) joined together to create one of the most unique spins on Moon Knight to ever be printed. If you’re a diehard MCU fan, then this is the series you’ll want to read, because Marc Spector’s personalities are Captain America, Wolverine, and Spider-Man in this iteration. You’ll still see Marc Spector and his other alter egos, but some of Marvel’s biggest heroes are also stuck in Marc’s mind this time around. This leads to some great moments, and this series is absolutely worth a read. It’s only a 12-issue run as well, so you can binge the whole thing in a day or two.
This run, helmed by Jeff Lemire, is an all-time great Moon Knight story. Marc Spector wakes up as a patient of an insane asylum without any powers, calling all of his past adventures into question. It’s a brilliant setup that’s immediately interesting, and things only ramp up from there. The Moon Knight Disney Plus series takes a ton of inspiration from this run, so it’s the best for fans of the show. The entire run is comprised of 3 volumes, but you can get away with just reading the first volume if you don’t want to delve too deep into the story. You’ll probably want to keep reading once you finish volume 1 though, so it’s great that each volume isn’t too expensive. It’s a mind-bending adventure with stunning art that is still hailed as one of the hero’s best stories to this day. Moon Knight is currently available to stream on Disney Plus.
]]>While the Persona 5 soundtrack may be the most recent, a healthy variety of OSTs from the franchise will become available at midnight on January 5th. Thanks to Twitter account @AniPlaylist (an account dedicated to sharing when popular anime tracks make their way on to Spotify, and Persona is pretty damn anime) we know which ones. Coming to Spotify and Apple Music are the soundtracks for:
The rest can be found here on the Atlus Spotify page. Everything is in Japanese, but you should be able to find what you’re looking for. That’s roughly four OSTs (if you roll Golden and FES into the main soundtracks for P4 and P3), several spin-off albums, and a couple live concerts. That’s not a bad haul for Persona fans, and I know I’ll be adding both the Persona 4 and Persona 5 soundtracks for my library as soon as I am able (I own the deluxe vinyl for Persona 5, so you could say I’m a fan). There’s even an official playlist on Spotify if you are unfamiliar with some of the other games and want to sample some of the greatest hits from each. The playlist won’t go up until midnight alongside the full albums, but you can bookmark and save it now. We gave Persona 5 Royal a perfect score, and were pleased with the Persona 4 Golden PC port released a few months ago. If you want to unlock the true ending to Royal, or need help increasing your social stats, be sure to check out our various Persona 5 guides.
]]> You read that correctly. The new World of Warcraft Thrall Premium Statue is an absolute unit of a collectible. I thought my one-foot tall statues were massive, but the former Warchief of the Horde easily dwarfs all of them. Maybe if I stood my Half-Life 2 Gravity Gun up on its end it’d compare, but that’s about as large as any collectible I own gets. Maybe if I had Blizzard’s 24″ Premium Illidan Statue I’d have something to compare the Thrall Premium Statue against, so it’s not like the company hasn’t done this before. Seriously, if you’ve watched any of our podcasts then you’ve seen my Horde banner in the background. The Thrall Premium Statue is as large and wide as it is. I’m still wrapping my head around the sheer mass of this thing, which weighs in at around 40 pounds by the way. Where I would put it anyone’s guess, but I won’t pretend to be impressed by its size alone. The hand painted statue frankly looks amazing. The choice of colors, how well they’re blended together to make each material pop with a realistic sheen: it’s easily one of the best looking collectible statues I’ve seen in a while (trust me; there are plenty of cheap looking ones selling for good money out there). Such scale and quality comes at a cost, however, and the World of Warcraft Thrall Premium Statue will set you back a mere $600. This statue of WoW’s “Green Jesus” is more expensive than a next-gen console. Then again, only the most devout of fans are going to drop that kind of money on a statue the size and weight of a toddler. Much like the recent Yeti X: World of Warcraft Edition I reviewed, this one is clearly for the super fans. Thrall’s face may look a little derpy (which the subreddit has happily turned into a meme), but hey, there’s an even more expensive gray version for those who like to paint their own statues.
Here’s the first of several Sonic Forces short comics! (1/2) pic.twitter.com/UX3qjyAqLl
— Sonic the Hedgehog (@sonic_hedgehog) October 12, 2017
The first of these short comics was released today (October 12) and tells the story of a rookie who is a cowardly member of the resistance with low self-esteem. This character’s narration explains that he wants to be a hero like Sonic or Tails, but that he is too cowardly to do so. Dr. Eggman then attacks the base, forcing the rookie to fight alongside Vector, Espio and Charmy from Team Chaotix. The comic is only eight pages long, but the full thing is available to view for free on Sonic the Hedgehog social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter. It is not currently known how many more comics will be released (the “(1/2)” in the tweet to the right refers to that being the first of two tweets about the topic, not this being the first of two comics) or what frequency at which they will be released. Sonic Forces is set to come out on November 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
]]>According to Polygon, Dark Horse and Nintendo have recently announced that they will be working on a series of graphic novels based on Nintendo’s new fighting game ARMS, which came out earlier this year for the Switch. The graphic novels will feature characters from the game, such as Spring Man, Ribbon Girl and Master Mummy, and explore the lore of the franchise more deeply than the game does. The graphic novels will be illustrated by Joe Ng, who has previously drawn for Street Fighter and Darkstalkers books, as well as Overwatch comics, so he’s got some experience drawing characters originally from video games. You can see some of Ng’s drawings of the characters from ARMS in the picture to the right of this paragraph. The first ARMS graphic novel is set to release in the fall of 2018.

]]>Various Life is Strange social media pages recently shared a link to a website promoting their #YourFriendMe campaign. This campaign encourages people to record themselves telling a friend how important their friendship is to them and then to share that video with that friend using the hashtag #YourFriendMe. For every video shared this way, Square Enix, Life is Strange‘s publisher, has promised to donate $5, up to a total of $25,000, to the JED Foundation. The website describes the JED Foundation as “an advocate for the mental health of teens and young adults nationwide, partnering with high schools and colleges to strengthen substance abuse programs and suicide prevention programs.” So if you’ve been meaning to tell a friend how important they are to you, or if you’ve wanted to get back in contact with someone you’ve been out of touch with for a while, you now have an excuse to do so. It’s for a good cause AND it’s related to video games.
]]>The third and final book in this Goddess Collection, entitled The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia, was released in Japanese earlier this year and the English version is set to come out on April 24, 2018. The book is 320 pages long and will contain information on items, enemies, languages and much more from 1986’s The Legend of Zelda all the way through 2016’s Twilight Princess HD. The book will also feature an exclusive interview with Eiji Aonuma, who has been the series producer of the franchise since 1998’s classic Ocarina of Time. The cover price of the book is $39.99 and is currently available for pre-order for all you hardcore Zelda fans who want it as soon as it comes out.
]]>*only the top ten had their number of votes disclosed
The results of the survey reveal that participants believe Persona 5 is the best game of all time, PlayStation 2 is the best console, Sega has produced the best titles and the best titles came out this decade. Obviously, this survey isn’t representative of Japan as a whole, but you can see a lot of choices that are distinctly Japanese occupying the lists. For example, its near-impossible that any Western (online) publication would have an all-inclusive “best of” list from its readers that would include Danganronpa, Sakura Wars and Hatsune Miku within its top 15. Similarly, its unlikely we’d see a “best of” console list that is topped by the PlayStation 2, yet largely ignores all Xbox consoles. Of course, there are many results that one would also expect to see on a Western (online) publication’s list. Though one could dispute Persona 5’s placement, there is no denying that it easily deserves a top 10 spot. Similarly, no “best of” list of this type would feel right without the presence of a few Legend of Zelda, Mario and Final Fantasy titles sprinkled in. These results easily show that while Japanese and Western gamers are different in many respects, they’re also a lot alike.
]]>These pictures come courtesy of Vanity Fair, who has a first look at the movie. As we saw in the previously leaked set pictures, Vikander looks very much like the Lara Croft of the reboot series, with the outfit she is wearing being an almost replica of the one in the first reboot game. On top of the pictures, they were also able to speak with Vikander about the role as well.
“When I was asked to take on this role I got really excited—Lara Croft is a truly iconic character. I think people can identify with her for lots of different reasons, but for me I very much see her as a model for many young women. She’s trying to carve out her place in the world and connect her future with her past. She also has a fantastic mix of traits—tough, smart, vulnerable, plus she’s kick ass! She is also uniquely different to other characters I have taken on previously. It’s a lot of fun trying to get into Lara’s head and the challenge of getting to grips with such a physical role is an element of this project that I find an absolute thrill.”
Tomb Raider is being directed by Roar Uthaug and also stars Dominic West, Walton Goggins, and Daniel Wu alongside Vikander, with it set to be released on March 16, 2018.
]]>Spent my Friday night at our Warner Bros offices in a 6hr script session with these rampaging rockstars. Our RAMPAGE (next movie I’ll make) writers, producers, director and star (occasionally me). Even though this took us deep into Friday night and we all have families and stuff to do – this kind of meeting is so critical to our movie’s success. Everyone’s instincts were firing on the highest of levels. My fav moment from this merciless 6hr meeting was when I shared with this group that there’s an equity and trust I’ve built with my audience that they trust me to take them on an epic ride, and always do our best to send them home happy. A very cool moment to see everyone’s eyes light and heads start to nod. To win on any level you gotta have teamwork and collaboration and cant thank everyone enough in this room for their energy and focus. You truly helped us move the needle. And Wendy Jane you’re Superwoman for your creative brilliance and putting up with all these asshole’s dumb guy jokes. Not me of course, I’m a gentleman. ? Next stop for me in my research – the Primate division at the Atlanta Zoo (my character’s a Primatologist & head of an anti poaching unit in Rwanda). Really informative and educational character to play and project to work on. More to come. Start shooting this APRIL. #RAMPAGE
There is no question that Dwayne Johnson is one of the biggest names in Hollywood these days, with Baywatch sure to be a success when it comes out. He has also been attached to play Black Adam for DC as well for awhile, but it sounds like Rampage is his very next project coming up. What do you think of the idea of a Rampage movie? Is the best idea for a video game movie to be something that is such a basic idea that leaves the script writer and the director more freedom, or something that sticks closer to an easier to adapt piece of source material? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
]]> The newly branded devices come in “Original Brown” and “Original Grey” colors, (which coincidentally appear more like red and blue, Pokemon anyone?) as a nostalgic throwback to the original “Ver. 1” Digivices released in 1997. Shaped in rigid rectangular form giving it a sturdy look, the toys contain three buttons and comes with keychains so players can take them along anywhere. As an exclusive factor, “Original Brown” comes with Agumon, whereas, Gabumon is only attainable in “Original Grey.” Furthermore, the devices will contain Digimon from the first five devices released as well as previous 10th and 15th editions. Allowing players to collect all virtual pets from the series, as well as newly evolved Digimon like Zabumon. The collectibles are up for preorder now in Japan, though an official release date for North America and Europe have not been confirmed. However, rest assured, Digimon World: Next Order will be released in North America end of this month for the PS4 and PS Vita. Created in 1997, Digimon: Digital Monsters was inspired by the popular Tamagotchi craze started in Japan and blew over to the West in the 1990s as people began to carry around virtual pets in their pockets. Receiving much popularity as Pokemon, the Digimon franchise diverted into various sequels as well as an animated television series, games, manga and toys. Most recently, Digimon Adventure Tri was released continuing the original animated story in light of the 20th anniversary, drawing much attention from fans.
